Specialty of the department, scientific activity, main achievements:
The Department deals with enterprises’ finances, costs account and finances of local government. The research carried out up to now focused on the sources of financing enterprises, costs of capital and its decisive factors, enterprise value and costs account. The results of researches were published in the book edited by W. Janik ”Enterprises in Lublin Region in 1998-2003” printed by WSPA and PAN in Lublin 2006; B.Sawicka „Value management for shareholders in the times of economy transformation in Poland”, Politechnika Lubelska, Lublin 2005; A. Miszczuk, M. Miszczuk, K. Żuk, “Economy of local governments”, PWN, Warszawa 2007; W. Janik, A. Paździor, “The Role of Small and Medium Enterprises in Development of Poland’s Eastern Voivodeships”, II International Conference: Technical & Economic Aspects of Industrial Reconversion, Politechnika Częstochowska, Częstochowa 2006; W. Janik, Association with Wilkes University, USA 2007, “Using EU Funds for Financing the Development of Small Enterprises in Poland”. Additionally, the results of researches were presented in several dozen scientific articles published by the employees of the department.
Research areas
At present the department concentrates its research activities on the issue of using EU funds by small and medium enterprises, especially by those functioning on the east of Poland.
Educational offer
The department leads the specialty ” Managing finances of an enterprise” for post-graduate students.
